About

Day was born in Guyana, South America, where she spent the first twelve years of her life before her family moved to Queens, New York.  She grew up in Queens which she loves for its rich diversity.  Day received a Master of Social Work degree from Hunter College, The City University of New York, and has over 18 years of psychotherapy experience working with people of diverse backgrounds, facing a variety of issues.  She worked in multiple outpatient mental health clinics, including The Jewish Board of Family and Children Services, North Shore Child and Family Guidance Center (in New York), and Kaiser Permanente (Hawaii Region in mid-2000s) before starting her own private practice in 2013.  Besides studying different psychotherapy modalities, Day also explored Reiki and Energy Psychology.  She is a certified EMDR therapist.

Day has always had an interest in coaching and saw the need for it in her psychotherapy practice.  She realized that not everyone is interested in investing their time in the psychotherapy process.  Some people just want to shift out of their stuck position, which can be done with just a few sessions of coaching, so that they can moved towards their desired goals. So in 2019, Day became a certified holistic life coach through The Foundation for Holistic Life Coaching which was founded by international best-selling author, teacher and coach, Alan H. Cohen.

Day currently resides on the island of Oahu, in Hawaii.  She loves the Hawaiian Islands, visited them frequently over the years and even lived on Oahu for few years in the mid-2000s.  The islands always felt like “home” to her, and in 2019, she finally decided that it was time to return “home”.

Although she lives on Oahu Day works with clients in both New York and Hawaii via online video-conferencing.  Her clients like working with Day because of her warmth, compassion and openness, and because of the different perspectives from which she draws to support them in their healing journey.  Day views challenges as opportunities to learn and grow, and healing as a lifelong process. She believes that everyone has the ability to make their life better, even if it is an internal shift in perspective; this is always a choice in any situation.
